Vintage Smoking Jacket Black & Silver Satin Plaid Pattern Robe Mens Size XL

This is a striking vintage smoking jacket made of black satin with black and silver plaid patterning.  It has a shawl collar, defined cuffs and does up with a matching sash belt.  There is a patch pocket at either side and one at the chest, all trimmed in black roping.  The shawl collar and cuffs are also trimmed with black roping.  The piece is unlined. 

Age: probably 1960s

Label: No label, but probably of European origin

Material: Most likely rayon satin, but possibly acetate satin - medium weight

Sizing: Size 54 is indicated, probably a European size, and although this should fit an extra large size, please rely on the following measurements for fit, either comparing them to another jacket that you may own or your body measurements, allowing at least 2” to 4” less for fit:

Shoulders: 21” across from shoulder seam to shoulder seam

Sleeves:  25” from the shoulder seam

Sleeve Inseam: 17 1/2” long

Chest: 54” around, taken under the arms, with a normal overlap

Waist: 50” around, meant to be cinched with the sash belt

Overall length: 36"

Condition:  It is in very crisp condition with no wear, tear or odors - there is a small drip-like shiny spot to the right shoulder, but this should come out with a dry cleaning, very difficult to notice in any case.  Otherwise, this smoking jacket looks like it was seldom, if ever, used and well stored over the years.
