This is a wonderful 1940s era mens blue blazer jacket that has a “White Ensign Montreal” crest on its pocket.  The White Ensign Club is an association for veterans of the Royal Canadian navy.  The crest is made with metallic gold thread and is beautifully embroidered.  The blazer was made by Canadian manufacturer Fashion Craft and sold by under their “Terrace Club” brand name.  The fabric is made of navy blue wool.  It has padded shoulders, peaked lapels and closes with two brass buttons, part of a four button double breasted configuration.  The buttons have an impressed naval crown with “Canada” on them.  The buttons are marked “Wm. Scully Montreal” on the back.  There are patch pockets applied at either side and to the left chest.  There are two similar buttons at either cuff.   The jacket is half lined in a blue twill fabric.  It has a pocket built into the interior right and left sides.

Age: late 1940s

Label: Terrace Club Sportswear A Fashion Craft Origination.

Sizing: No size is indicated, but this should fit a medium to large size, probably a US size 40 - please rely on the following measurements for fit (compare measurements with a similar jacket that you presently own or to your own body measurements, taking the cut of the garment into account):

Shoulders: 19 1/2” across from shoulder/sleeve seam to shoulder/sleeve seam

Sleeves: 23” from the shoulder/sleeve seam

Sleeve inseam: 16 1/2”

Chest:  45” around, taken under the arms

Waist:  39” around

Overall length:  32”, measured flat

Condition:  It is in very good condition with the exception of a small fray at the back neck (see close-up photo).  This could be stitched or patched.  Otherwise, the blazer is free of pronounced wear, tear, staining or odour.

This is a good looking vintage blue blazer, but the White Ensign crest and buttons would be of particular interest on this piece, nice collectibles!
