Vintage Mohair Tuxedo Brisson & Brisson Oscar Jacobson Sz M

This is an excellent quality men’s vintage mohair tuxedo made in Sweden by Oscar Jacobson.  The jacket to this vintage mohair tuxedo has medium width silk covered notched lapels and closes with a single covered button at the front.  The shoulders of the jacket are padded and the sleeves have three covered buttons at the cuff.  There is a flapped pocket at either side (posed with flap inside pocket) and a pocket at the left breast.  The jacket is fully lined with a black rayon fabric.  It has two interior pockets.  The pants to this vintage mohair tuxedo have a flat front, nylon zipper fly, a pocket built into either side and two back pockets.  It has an unusual silk stripe down the side of the leg that curves around the pocket.  

Label: Brisson & Brisson Established 1934 Clothing Specialists Montreal and “Made in Sweden”.  Brisson & Brisson was an exclusive men’s clothing boutique located in Montreal that closed some 20 years ago.  It was favored by Canadian business and political elite and Prime Minister Pierre Elliot Trudeau was a regular customer there.  They carried high-end private label fashion that was contracted to manufacturers of exclusive brands. 

Manufacturer label:  Oscar Jacobson By Appointment to H.M. The King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden.  Oscar Jacobson was granted this appointment in 1980.

Material: This vintage mohair tuxedo  is made of 30% mohair and 70% wool.  Mohair is always blended with wool as 100% mohair would be much too coarse to be practical.

Sizing: Size S42 is indicated, but this vintage mohair tuxedo should fit a medium size, probably about a US size 40 short - please rely on the following measurements for fit, taken from the exterior (please take the cut of the garment into consideration):

Shoulders: 18” across shoulder/sleeve seam to shoulder/sleeve seam 

Sleeves: 24” from shoulder/sleeve seam

Sleeve Inseam: 16” 

Chest: 43” around, taken under the arms

Waist: 41”, around

Overall length: 29 1/2", measured flat

Pants:

Waist: 36”

Leg Inseam: 30” long - there is 2” of fabric inside the hem

Overall length: 39“

Condition: This vintage mohair tuxedo is in excellent condition with no wear, tear, stains or odours. This vintage mohair tuxedo looks like it saw very little use.
