This is a muted brown/grey fur felt fedora hat made in the USA under the “Robert Hall” brand.  Some people online claim that this is the brand of the Robert Hall Clothes shops of Connecticut, popular during the 50s and 60s, and closed in 1977, while others claim that it is the brand of the Magill Hat Co. of Montreal, Canada.  The tag states “Made in USA”, so obviously not Canadian. In any case, this is a nice quality hat made of genuine fur felt, reasonably soft and pliable.  This hat features a medium width brim that is turned at the edge and stitched down.  The crown is wrapped in a black grosgrain ribbon with a bow and feather at the side.  The sweatband is gold stamped “Genuine Fur Felt” and the lining is stamped “Robert Hall”.   It is sized as a size 7 1/8, but appears a bit roomier than that - it measures 22 3/8” around the sweat band and 6 1/2” by 7 3/4” across the opening.  The brim measures 2” in width and the crown measures 4 5/8” in height.  The hat is in very good condition - pre-owned, some waviness to the sweatband, but clean and ready to wear.  I think that the hat dates to the 60s or 70s.  This is a good looking hat in a attractive colour - sold at a reasonable price…..
