Vintage Mens Cashmere Overcoat Barneys NY Coat Size 44 Long

This is a luxurious pre-owned mens cashmere overcoat.  It is made of Italian 100% pure cashmere fabric by Lanificio Fedora.  The fabric is very soft, in a medium thickness and of excellent quality.  This mens cashmere overcoat was made in Montreal, Canada by Cardinal, a manufacturer with a history dating to 1938 that from the beginning focused on manufacturing quality mens cashmere overcoats.  The coat is made in an easy to wear classic style with medium width notched lapels, three button closure, padded shoulders, flapped side pockets, four button cuffs and 15 1/2” kick vent.  It is fully lined in gold champagne toned satin acetate.  This mens cashmere overcoat has a Tyvek label identifying the model as SB Stanbury and there is a code of 86P705 on the label, so I’m wondering if this doesn’t stand for 1986 - I would say that Tyvek labels were discontinued from common use in more recent years.  It was made by ACTWU (Amalgamated Clothing and Textile Workers Union) formed in 1976 and which changed its name to UNITE in 1995.

Sizing: The size label on this mens cashmere overcoat states size 44 L (long), but please rely on the following measurements for fit, taken from the exterior (please take the thickness of the fabric and the cut of the garment into consideration):

Shoulders: 21 1/2” across shoulder/sleeve seam to shoulder/sleeve seam

Sleeves: 27 1/2” from shoulder/sleeve seam

Sleeve Inseam: 17 3/4” long

Chest: 48” around, taken under the arms

Waist: 44”

Overall length: 49 1/2“, measured flat

Condition:  Although pre-owned, this mens cashmere overcoat is in very good condition - it appears to have seen very little use but there are some fray holes to the lining at the bottom left as well as some nibbles to the finish in the same area (see last close-up photo).  Otherwise, this mens cashmere overcoat is very clean and has been well stored. 

This is an excellent mens cashmere overcoat - pure cashmere coats of this quality are very expensive to buy today, so this is a good opportunity to own a high quality overcoat!
