Vintage Mens Cashmere and Alpaca Sweater Made in Italy Sz M

This is a very nice quality vintage cashmere and alpaca sweater made in Italy for Brisson & Brisson of Montreal.  This blended alpaca sweater is made in a pullover style with a V shaped neckline and dropped shoulder sleeves.  The fabric on this cashmere blended alpaca sweater is woven in a combination of grey tones and ochre banding.

Age: difficult to ascertain, but this blended alpaca sweater dates most probably 1980s or 90s

Knit:  70% Alpaca / 30% Cashmere

Label:  Made in Italy Brisson-Brisson Montreal

Brisson & Brisson was an exclusive men’s clothing boutique located in Montreal that closed some 20 years ago.  It was favoured by Canadian business and political elite and Prime Minister Pierre Elliot Trudeau was a regular customer there - Trudeau was quite the fashion plate in his prime, just look at some photos of him during the 60s and 70s.  Brisson & Brisson carried high-end private label fashion that was contracted to manufacturers of exclusive brands - they definitely worked with Brioni, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they also did business with Gucci.  Anything that you bought at Brisson & Brisson was of exceptional quality.  I’m unsure of who precisely made this blended alpaca sweater, but it definitely was a high-end Italian manufacturer. 

Sizing: Size medium is indicated on this blended alpaca sweater but please rely on the following measurements for fit, taking the stretch of the knit into consideration:

Shoulders: 26” across from one shoulder/sleeve seam to the other shoulder/sleeve seam - note that the shoulder/sleeve seam sits on the upper arm

Sleeves: 21” long from the shoulder/sleeve seam, 34” from the mid-neck to the edge of the cuff

Sleeve Inseam: 22” long

Chest: 44” around, taken under the arms

Bottom: 34” around, unstretched

Overall length: 26”, measured flat at the back

Condition: It is in very good condition with no pronounced wear, tear or soiling - I don’t think that this saw much use.
