This brooch is made in a round shape and features three large oval iridescent cabochon stone each topped with multiple aurora borealis rhinestones.  The form is almost like three acorns laid alongside each other.  The signature is within a round plaque on the underside.  The setting is gold toned metal.  The brooch measures 2” in diameter.  It is in very good condition with no wear, missing stones or repairs.

Continental Jewellery was founded in 1943 and was based in Montreal.  They were the principal competition to Sherman, which was also based in Montreal.  Although they were more modestly priced compared to Sherman, their quality was still excellent, although, in general, their pieces contained fewer stones.  Because of their competitive pricing, they grew to be the largest Canadian suppliers of rhinestone jewelry during the 1950s.

This is a nice quality brooch...interesting iridescent cabochons and pretty sparkle!
