This is a vintage 50s era mens fedora hat made by Montreal milliner Buckley.  I’ve had Buckley hats in the past, and they’ve all been of exceptional quality, many of them custom made.  This fedora is made of fur felt in a light colour - an interesting pinkish toned light tan, unusual and very attractive.  The fedora has a thin grosgrain band and the edge of the brim is trimmed in grosgrain.  The lining is printed with “The Commando by Buckley”.  The sweatband is gold stamped “Chelford Hat” with the a coat-of-arms.  It is also gold stamped with the retailer’s name “Made Expressly for Grobman & Sons Dept. Store North Battleford Sask.”.  It is also stamped “Ed Michaud SDS”.  The Buckley-Brooks company assets were bought by the Biltmore Hat Company in 1965.

Size: 7 1/8 (medium).  The opening measures 22 3/8” around the sweatband, and 6 1/2” by 7 7/8” across the opening.  The brim of this fedora measures 2 3/4” in width and the crown measures 4 3/4” in height.

Condition:  This fedora is in very good condition except for some darkish/blackish spotting in some areas, more prominently on the front brim and side and back crown.  You can either do a more thorough cleaning than I was able to do, or have the hat cleaned by a professional, although there are no guarantees that the spots will totally disappear.  Still, if you’re not too picky, this hat is in usable condition as is.

This is a really attractive fedora - excellent quality and shape, great look!
