Vintage 1980s Loewe Leather Jacket and Skirt Spanish Luxury Brand Ladies M 40

This is a fabulous quality jacket and skirt set made by Spanish luxury fashion brand Loewe of Madrid, Spain.  Loewe has roots dating to 1846 and produces primarily leather goods - handbags as well as garments.  The set dates to the 1980s.  It is made of beautiful butter-soft leather in a medium café brown colour.  The jacket is made in a blouson style with full sleeves that cinch at the cuff with a button closure.  It has a double collar, shoulder flaps with pleated detailing, and an elasticized waist band with button down adjustable sizing tabs.  It has built-in vertical side pockets and closes down the front with a metal zipper that is hidden by a flap.  The buttons are impressed with the Loewe logo.  The skirt is made in a below the knee length and closes at the back with a nylon zipper and button at the waist.

Label: The Loewe label has been removed, but both pieces are lined in rayon that is woven with Loewe.  I’ve seen this particular jacket offered elsewhere with the label still affixed and the quality of the leather leaves no doubt that this is authentic Loewe.

Sizing: Size 40 is indicated - this is a Spanish size, which should be equivalent to a US size 8, but please rely on the following measurements for fit, taking the style of the garment into consideration:

Jacket:

Shoulders:  16” across the shoulders from the end of one overflap to the other

Sleeves:  23” long from shoulder seam

Sleeve Inseam:  20”

Bust:  41” around, taken under the arms

Bottom:  32”  around, unstretched and with the adjustment set to largest

Overall length:  23 1/2”, measured flat

Skirt:

Waist:  28” around

Hips:  36” around

Length:  24”, measured flat

Condition: It is in very good condition - the jacket looks to have seen very  little use, except for a few light moisture spots to the lining, really minor and certain to come out with the right cleaning method.  The skirt is also in great condition except for two small grease spots near the hemline on the right (picture left) front - I have not tried to remove these, but I’m sure that a leather professional should be able to treat these. 

You have to feel the leather to appreciate just how fabulous it is - Loewe is renowned for the quality of its leather goods.  This is a beautifully made set and would have been extremely expensive to buy new - gorgeous jacket and skirt!
