This vintage 1966 tuxedo jacket was tailored by Chamberlain & Jones Ltd. of 7 Regent Street, London. This vintage 1966 tuxedo jacket features classic mid-century evening wear styling, with padded shoulders, a single-button front and silk satin-faced notched lapels. The jacket includes jetted pockets, a single chest pocket, four button sleeve cuffs and no rear vent. The interior is fully lined in black satin. A label sewn into the lining is hand-dated 7 June 1966 and inscribed with the original client’s name, H.E. Clark Esq.
Chamberlain & Jones was a respected London tailoring firm known for bespoke garments during the mid-20th century. Operating from a prominent address in London’s West End, the firm catered to gentlemen seeking formal wear of high quality.
