This is a wonderful unused 60s era men’s suit jacket made in a bright green “Lincolnshire” wool fabric - Lincoln longhair sheep have been bred in that area of England since the Roman occupation, circa 40 AD and their wool is particularly valued for its length and dyeability, said to practically glow when dyed.  The sleeve still retains its cloth and cardboard labels.  The jacket has padded shoulders, high set notched lapels, a three covered button closure and sleeves have two covered buttons at either cuff.  There is a flapped pocket at either side and a pocket at the left chest.  The jacket has a single vent at the back that measures 6 1/2” and is still sewn closed with a stitch at the bottom.  It is half lined in a striped green rayon lining.

Age: mid 1960s

Label: Cloth labels on the sleeve read “AW Elegance Imported Fabric Lincolnshire Fine All Wool” and “Imported Fabric Clothes At Their Finest $79.59” while the cardboard label reads “AWMC Custom Craftsmanship Styling Cloth: 70102 Size: 40 Price:.. Beaumont Clothes”.  The interior label reads “Manufacturé au Canada La Montagne, Quebec, P.Q.”

Sizing: As mentioned, size 40 is indicated, but being a vintage sizing, please rely on the following measurements for fit, taken from the exterior (please take the thickness of the fabric and the cut of the jacket into consideration):

Jacket:

Shoulders: 18 1/2” across shoulder seam-to-seam

Sleeves: 25” from shoulder seam

Sleeve Inseam: 17” long

Chest: 41” around, taken under the arms

Waist: 36”, around

Overall length: 29"

Condition: This jacket is in clean unused condition with no wear, tear, stains or odours.  It was well stored over the years.
