This is a wonderful late 1960s or early 70s vintage faux fur overcoat designed by Stanley Blacker.  This vintage faux fur overcoat has a Borg Alaskan acrylic brown “fur pile” exterior meant to replicate mouton fur.  It has notched lapels that can be folded over to close the neck (see photo), however there is no button or buttonhole for keeping it closed.  This vintage faux fur overcoat has a six button double breasted front and side pockets and is lined in a gold toned satin fabric..
Maker’s label:  Borg-Alaskan® Designed by Stanley Blacker A Kashan Creation Clean Only By Fur Coat Method, Do Not Brush, Press or Steam.  Stanley Blacker was an American designer who, after working at his father’s clothing company, established his own company in 1955.  He was amongst the first designers to advertise his name on garments, leading to the designer trend.
Retailer label:  Designed by Stanley Blacker for Edward’s Men’s Shop Saginaw, Mich.  Edward’s was founded in 1946 by Edward Silk.
Sizing: Size 40L (long) is indicated on the label on this vintage faux fur overcoat, but please rely on the following measurements for fit, taking the thickness of the faux fur into account:
Shoulders: 21” across from seam to seam
Sleeves: 26” long from the shoulder seam
Sleeve Inseam: 19” long
Chest: 48” around, taken under the arms
Waist: 46” around
Hips:  48”
Overall length: 41"
Condition:  This vintage faux fur overcoat is in excellent condition - there has been some professional repair done to the lining, but you would not know unless told.  Otherwise, no notable wear, tear, staining, soiling or odour.
