Vintage 1950s Cocktail Dress Beige Silk Organza Size Small

This is a wonderful vintage 1950s cocktail dress made of beige toned silk organza over an acetate base in the same colour tone.  The organza is arranged in vertical bands over the cap sleeves, bodice and skirt.  The skirt has a voile wrap that is short at the front but longer at the sides and back.  This 1950s cocktail dress has a bateau neckline and is made in a sheath form with the skirt cut close and straight to the legs in a below the knee length  It closes with a metal zipper at the back - the closure is covered with decorative bows.

Label: None, but this was manufactured - it is very well made

Sizing: No size is indicated on this 1950s cocktail dress but this should fit a size small - please rely on the following measurements for fit, taking into the style of the dress into account:

Bust:  34” around, taken under the sleeves

Waist:  25”  around

Hips:  34-34 1/2” around, but meant to fall loosely

Overall length:  40”, measured flat from the top shoulder to the hemline

Condition:  This 1950s cocktail dress is in very good condition with the exception of a 1 1/4” tear along the inside top edge fold of the right sleeve, easy to repair for a seamstress. Although pre-owned, there is no other pronounced wear, tear, marks, stains or odours.

This is a lovely quality 1950s cocktail dress with 50s era sophistication -great dress if you have a 25” waist!
