Vintage 1940s Tuxedo Tailcoat Full Dress Tails Size M L

This is a vintage mens tuxedo tailcoat / formal full dress tails, unlabeled, but most likely custom tailored.  

The tailcoat is made in classic form with large padded shoulders typical of 1940s tailoring, no closure, cut away front with six buttons, two buttons at the back and a single button at either cuff.  The lapels are peaked and finished in black grosgrain.  It is fully lined in black satin.  Note that there are no pants included, only the tailcoat.

Sizing: There is no size label, and although this should fit a medium to large size (US 40-42), with shorter arms, please rely on the following measurements for fit, taken from the exterior (please take the thickness of the fabric into consideration):

Shoulders: 20 1/2” across shoulder seam-to-seam 

Sleeves: 23” from shoulder seam - note that there may be a couple of extra inches of fabric inside the cuff 

Sleeve Inseam: 16” long

Chest: 46” around, taken under the arms with a normal gap, 23” across pit-to-pit

Waist: 42” around

Overall length: 39 1/2“ at the back, measured flat from the neck seam

Condition: This tailcoat is in very good condition with no noted pronounced wear, tear, soiling, staining or odour - it looks like it saw little use, and was well kept over the years.  

This is a nice tailcoat - well tailored, nice 40s style!
