Vintage 1930s Panne Velvet Dress - Off White Striped Devore Velvet - Wedding Gown - S

$345.00

Brand Poppy's Vintage Clothing

This is a beautiful gown from the 1930s.  It is made of an off-white devore striped panne velvet.  It is bias cut with a fairly long train.  It does up the back at the neckline with a double button closure and at the left side with snaps and one hook and eye at the waistline.

The belt does up with nine hooks and eyes.  The dress can be worn with or without the belt.

Please rely on the following measurements for sizing, all given in inches.  It is small and there is no stretch to the fabric, so you need to be just a little smaller than the given measurements.

Bust:                                                 34

Waist:                                               24

Hips:                                                 38

Shoulder to Sleeve Length:             13 (measurement taken from the center of the collar down to                                                                 the edge of the sleeve)

Overall length at the front:                57

Length of the train:                           21 at the longest point at the back

so 73 inches at the back at its longest point.

Belt:                                                  24

It does have some condition issues as there is an overall yellowing of the fabric that appears a little darker in certain areas.   There are also a few small light brownish stains as well as some markings at the bottom of the dress on the underpart of the train.  Please ignore the lighter area that you see on the photo around the train area as this is due to the flash from the photo lighting.  The underarms are fine as there is no staining in this area.  There is one teensy pinhole in the cowl neckline, but as it inside of the cowl, it is not seen and is very minor in any case.  The closure button at the back of neckline is missing rhinestones but it's very hard to tell due to color of the backing metal, so this shouldn't bother anyone.

A beautiful gown from the 1930s that evokes the glamorous days of Hollywood!
