This is a lovely antique Royal Doulton Gipsies plate titled “The Gipsies”, part of the “English Old Scenes” series ware. It portrays a group of Gypsies around a campfire. This Royal Doulton Gipsies plate is stamped “3 11’ on the underside, dating the piece to 1911. It measures 10 1/2” in diameter and weighs 1 lb and 7 oz. It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks or wear - this has been very well preserved over the last 114 years. The underside is hand inscribed “D3191” and stamped “The Gipsies Old English Scenes Royal Doulton”.
Great addition to a Royal Doulton collection, or just a lovely display piece - this Royal Doulton Gipsies plate is a nice early example of this series ware plate….
