Vintage Ladies Wool Coat with Mink Trim Custom Made Size M L

This is a lovely quality ladies coat with mink trim custom made most likely by a Canadian furrier for a customer.  This coat with mink trim is made of high pile wool, I’m unsure what type of wool, in an attractive medium brown colour.  The coat is trimmed in mink fur along the neck, the front opening, the bottom, the side pockets and the cuffs.  It is lined in brown taffeta that is interlined with insulation on the back of it for extra warmth and to protect against wind.  It closes at the neck with a single button and there are two hooks lower down the front that also secure the coat closed.  The sleeves on this coat with mink trim are made in a raglan style in a shorter style that will allow one to show off one’s gloves, and the coat is cut to flare to the knee length hemline so that it falls in drapes.  The back has three vertical seams with the centre seam above a deep pleat that adds to the attractive fall of the coat.  This coat with mink trim has a slash pocket built into either side.  I’m unsure of its exact age, but my best guess would be 1980s.

Sizing: No size is indicated on this coat with mink trim, and although this should fit a large size, it might suit a medium size if you like a loose fit.  Pplease rely on the following measurements for fit:

Shoulders: 18 1/2” across, estimated

Sleeves: 21” long from the estimated shoulder

Sleeve Inseam: 15” long

Chest: 44”, taken under the arms

Waist: 44”

Hips:  52”

Overall length: 35”, measured flat

Condition:  This coat with mink trim is in very good condition with the exception of wear to the nappe (finish) on the right shoulder (see last close-up photo). Otherwise, no other pronounced wear or tear and no soiling, odour or staining.  Note that the original owner’s initials are embroidered on the lining.
