Vintage Aquascutum Overcoat Herringbone Charcoal Wool Size L

This is a very nice quality Aquascutum overcoat made in England.  This Aquascutum overcoat is made in a charcoal grey 100% wool in a fine herringbone finish.   The coat is made in a relaxed, loose fitting style, similar to a raincoat form, with a squared collar, raglan sleeves, a five button closure hidden by an over flap except for the top button, a button-down half-belt at the cuffs, diagonal pocket built into either side and a 16” kick vent at the back.  The collar can be worn up to the face using the buttonhole and button under the collar (see close-up photo).  The interior is fully lined in black viscose rayon that is woven with Aquascutum London throughout.  Age of this Aquascutum overcoat is difficult to ascertain precisely due to the classic cut, but the Aquascutum label would indicate that this coat dates to the 1980s or maybe early 1990s.  This Aquascutum overcoat is meant for more temperate winter climates, not extreme cold.

Sizing: This Aquascutum overcoat should fit about a US size 42, maybe 40 if you wish to wear a jacket underneath.  Please note the following measurements for fit, taking the cut and thickness of the fabric into account as well as the length of the sleeves and the overall length of the coat:

Shoulders:  17” estimated due to the raglan sleeves

Sleeves: 26” from the estimated shoulder, 34 1/2” from the mid-neck to the cuff

Sleeve Inseam:  17 1/2”

Chest: 46” around, taken under the arms, 23” across pit-to-pit

Waist:  51” around

Hips:  52” around

Length:  45”, measured flat at the back from the neck seam

Condition:  This Aquascutum overcoat is in very good condition with no pronounced wear, tear, stains or odours.  This coat looks to have seen little use and has been very well cared for and stored.
