This is a wonderful vintage Italian reversible corduroy coat that is a rain coat on the opposite side. This reversible corduroy coat has raglan sleeves, a collar and closes with four buttons down the front. It has a belt that cinches the waist and belts at the cuffs, all of which are also reversible. It has a slit pocket at either side on both the wool and gabardine sides. There is an 18” kick pleat at the back.
Age: 1970s
Label: (K)arol - the first letter is shredded, but this reversible corduroy coat is of Italian origin
Material: The label reads “Tessuto a Coste 100%” (Italian for Ribbed Fabric) - I assume that means 100% cotton corduroy. It also states “Tessuto Liscio Poliester 67% Cotone 33%”, which translates to Smooth Fabric 67% polyester 33% cotton”.
Sizing: Italian size 44 is indicated on the label, and although this reversible corduroy coat is supposed to be equivalent to a ladies’ US size 8, please rely on the following measurements for fit:
Sleeves: 33 1/2” long from the mid-neck seam to the cuff edge; 61” from the cuff of one sleeve over the shoulders and to the other cuff edge
Sleeve Inseam: 17 1/2”
Bust: 40” around
Waist: 44” around
Hips: 48” around
Length: 43”, measured flat at the back from the neck seam
Condition: This reversible corduroy coat is in very good condition with only two noted issues - the cover to the left cuff belt buckle is half-missing and there is a small dark stain to the hemline of the smooth side, both issues quite minor. Otherwise, it is in clean condition and ready to wear.
This is a nice quality vintage Italian reversible corduroy coat - attractive style while being duo functional!
