This is a wonderful Stetson fedora hat that is made of “Genuine Panama” straw in a size 7 1/4.  The hat has a narrow brim and an interesting reverse crease through the middle of the top of the crown.  There is no lining but rather a satin pad affixed to the interior top that is stamped with the Stetson logo.  The size tag reads “1/4” and is made in a black and white keyhole shape, which Stetson stopped using in 1960.  The sweatband is gold stamped with the Stetson logo, “Genuine Panama” and with the original owner’s initials “BDM”.  It measures 22” around the sweatband and 8 1/4” by 6 5/8” across the opening.  It is in very good condition - no creases, wear or staining and the straw appears to be fresh and supple - this hat looks to have seen little use and was well cared for and stored over the years.  This is a beautiful quality hat - rare to find 50s Stetson Panama fedoras in this condition, and in this hard to find larger size!
