This is a wonderful vintage silk scarf featuring illustrated graphics of skiers through the last 200 years.  There are 6 illustrations, the first is of a tobogganer with a date of 1750 below him, while the other five are of skiers with dates of 1830, 1890, 1910, 1925 and 1950.  The scarf has text in the middle that reads “Die Weisse Kunst”, which translates to “The White Art”, referring to the art of skiing in the snow.  The scarf has the maker’s mark of “S” on it - I’m fairly sure that this is a Swiss maker.  The scarf measures 18” by 18 1/2”.  It is in very good condition with only a few light marks (note the upper left of the 1750 square) - I can see a light line through the scarf in one place, but this is really minor, this scarf displays very well with its striking colors of yellow, red, green, black and white.  The scarf has just been dry cleaned, so the dry cleaning ticket is still affixed with a pin to the scarf.

This is a wonderful ski display collectible dating to 1950!
