This is a very nice quality 1980s era Guy Laroche sweater made in a pullover style.  It has a wide opening that closes at either shoulder with two shell buttons.  The neckline is wide and high and the cuffs and bottom are ribbed.  The sweater is knit in a raised diagonal zigzag pattern. It comes with its original Guy Laroche plastic storage bag.

Label:  Guy Laroche Tricots Paris Made in Italy.  Guy Laroche (1921-1989) was a  respected Paris fashion designer who apprenticed with Jean Desses from 1949 until he opened his own fashion house in 1957.  Guy Laroche is quoted as saying “It is my intention to try and adapt haute couture to modern requirements: to make dresses that are simple and chic”.

Material: 50% “Lin-Flax” (linen) and 50% cotton- very nice quality

Sizing: Size 36 is indicated, which is a French size equivalent to a US size 6, but please note the following measurements for fit, allowing for the style of the sweater and the stretch of the knit (your body measurements should be smaller, or measure a similar garment that you own):

Shoulders:  19” across from shoulder/sleeve seam to shoulder/sleeve seam

Sleeves:  20” long from the shoulder/sleeve seam

Sleeve inseam:  20”

Bust:  35” around

Bottom:  24” around unstretched, stretches out to 32” if needed

Length:  25 1/2” long, measured flat

Condition:  It is in excellent condition with no wear, tear, stains or odors.  This came from the estate of a wealthy woman who bought more than she could possibly wear - many of the items were not used or obviously worn only a couple of times.

This is a very nice quality sweater, especially compared to what they make today….easy to wear, looks contemporary….excellent Parisian fashion!
