Vintage 1970s Brioni Rome Abstract Pattern Silk Necktie Mens Tie

$75.00

Brand Poppy's Vintage Clothing

This is rare vintage mens necktie made by Brioni of Rome.  Brioni, of course, is one of the most expensive tailors in the world, each garment hand made and sewn by expert workmen.  Brioni was founded in 1945, and during the 50s was discovered by American actors Clark Gable and Cary Grant while working at the Cinecitta Studios in Rome.  Brioni continues to supply made to measure suits to an exclusive clientele.  Among their customers were Kirk Douglas, Henry Fonda, Rock Hudson, Al Pacino, Peter Jennings, Robert Wagner, John Wayne, Robert Kennedy, Nelson Mandela and Luciano Pavarotti. I believe that this tie dates either to the late 1960s or to the early 70s.  It is in very good condition, very clean, and obviously saw little use, and was well stored over the years.  It measures 55” in length and 4” in width at its widest.  It is printed in an amazing abstract pattern in tones of purple, red, blue and white.  The label reads “Brioni Roma All Silk Made in Italy”.

Beautiful quality, very collectible - rare to find Brioni ties of this age and in this condition!
