This is a vintage 1940s smoking jacket made by Caulfeild of Toronto. The piece is made of maroon wool with red and blue tartan patterning and roped trim. It has a shawl collar, turned cuffs and does up with a roped closure at the front. There is a patch pocket at either side and at the left chest, all trimmed in the blue and red tartan and roping. It is unlined.

Age: 1940s / early 1950s

Label: Caulfeild Tailored by C.B.G. Caulfeild was founded in 1886 as a retailer but by the 1920s became a manufacturer, eventually gaining 30% of the Canadian market for robes and loungewear during the 1970s.

Color: Maroon with red and blue trim

Condition: It is in very good condition with no wear, tear, staining or odors, looks like it was rarely used and well stored over the years.
