Vintage Kenzo Jungle Jacket Skirt Suit Red Cotton French Size 38 US 8

$150.00

Brand Poppy's Vintage Clothing

This is a pre-owned Kenzo Jungle skirt suit made in a purple toned cotton.  The jacket has padded shoulders, peaked lapels, a three button closure, turned cuffs and is made in a longer silhouette. It has flapped pocket at either side, the left side with a triangular plastic piece hanging from it.  The skirt is made in an asymmetrical length, longer on the right where there is a wide pleat, the type of pleat that you’d normally see at the back, but in this case is at the side.  The upper left of the skirt has decorative diagonal seams.

Kenzo Takada (b. 1940s) moved to Paris in 1965 after studying fashion and designing in his native Japan for a Tokyo department store.  He opened his first boutique in Paris in 1970 and went on to expand his business through the 70s, 80s and into the 90s, selling his label to LVMH in 1999.

Label:  Kenzo Jungle.  Kenzo Jungle was a junior line introduced during the mid-1980s.

Content label:  Made in Romania.  The label is faded, but I think that it reads 100% cotton with a lining that is 100% acetate.

Sizing: Both pieces are labeled a French size 38 (US equivalent size 8) but please rely on the following measurements for fit:

Jacket:

Shoulders: 16” across, seam-to-seam

Sleeves: 23” long, from shoulder seam

Sleeve Inseam: 16” long

Bust: 36” around, taken under the arms

Waist:  32” around

Bottom:  44” around

Overall length: 28”

Skirt:

Waist:  27” around

Hips:  37” around

Length:  23” on the left side, 26” on the right side to the bottom point of the pleat

Condition: It is in very good condition - clean with no wear, tear, holes, stains or odours.  This looks to have seen very little use.

This is a very nice quality suit - nice Kenzo design!
