This is a wonderful quality vintage chevron mink coat that is dyed in a beige toned pattern against a mahogany brown, almost black, background colour.  I’m unsure of its age, but my best guess would be 1970s era - note the metallic woven lining, as furriers generally stopped using high end linings like this during the 70s. This herringbone mink coat is made in a classic style with a high set rounded collar that can be worn down or up around the neck - I’ve posed the neckline both ways in the close-up photos as well as with a neckline.  It has an above the wrist length inset sleeves with padded shoulders.  This chevron mink coat is cut with a slight flare to the hemline so falls in drapes, notable at the back.  There is a pocket built into either side.  The coat is fully lined and is secured closed by an interior tie and edge loop, a button at the neck and three fur snaps down the upper front.  The pattern is beautifully dyed - please note the back of this herringbone mink coat.

Label: Levaque Fourrures Furs Hawkesbury, On.  Levaque is still in existence and was founded in 1945.  Like most Canadian furriers, they understand Canadian winters.

Sizing: No size is indicated on this herringbone mink coat, and although this should fit a size medium, please rely on the following exterior measurements for fit, taking the thickness of the fur into account (compare measurements with a similar fur coat that you presently own or to your own body measurements, taking the cut of the garment into account):

Shoulders:  16” across from seam to seam, but the shoulder cap should extend into the top of the sleeve, so effective width would probably slight more

Sleeves: 22” from the shoulder seam to the cuff - please note that this is an above the wrist length.

Sleeve inseam: 16”

Bust:  42” around, taken under the arms

Waist: 46” around

Hips:  50” around

Hemline:  62” around

Overall length:  43”, measured flat

Condition:  This mink coat is in very good condition - the fur is fresh and strong and has very good glaze.  No splits, wear or tear, this coat looks to have seen very little use and has been well cared for over its life.    There is a very slight scent of perfume.

Excellent quality herringbone mink coat in a very attractive dyed pattern in an attractive colour combination - this is a wonderful chevron mink coat, sure to be noticed and bring many years of warmth and pleasure!
