Vintage 80s Caftan Dress Miss Egypt Beaded Silk Signed Size M

This is an exceptional example of a caftan made under the “Miss Egypt” label. The caftan is beautifully beaded on a gold toned beige raw silk, and lined on sleeves with green silk. This was hand beaded using a star shaped stencil as a guide and the artist who did the work signed it in print with “Elza”. The neckline is a boat or bateau shape, the caftan has dropped shoulders and a full cut sleeve, similar to an angel sleeve. The seams are covered by purple silk cording. The garment appears to be entirely hand sewn from what I’ve been able to discern.
Sizing: No size is indicated, but, being a loose fitting garment, this should fit a range of medium sizes - please rely on the following measurements for fit:
Shoulders: 22” across the raised corded seams, but the shoulders are dropped
Sleeves: 12 1/2” from the corded seam, 24” long from the mid neck
Sleeve inseam: 13”
Bust: 21” across the corded area
Waist: 24” across the corded area
Hemline: 61” around
Length: 56”, measured flat
Condition: It is in very clean condition with no wear, tear or stains or odours - this caftan looks like it saw little use and was well stored over the years. There is, however, a slight scent of perfume. It had been more pronounced, but I’ve aired the caftan for a number days and the scent is quite diminished, but there still is a remnant of scent. You could either have it dry cleaned or air it further.
This is a beautiful quality caftan - really more of a hostess dress, definitely a formal caftan that you can receive visitors in. Gorgeous!
