This is a vintage 70s ladies herringbone tweed coat made in a tailored style with a longer silhouette.  The label reads “B Altman Fifth Avenue New York” - B. Altman was a high-end fashion and fabrics department store founded in 1865 and located on Fifth Avenue in New York from 1906 until its closure in 1989. The coat does up the front with buttons in a two-by-two configuration. It has a black velvet collar, wide lapels, long sleeves, a chest pocket, vertical pocket at either side with a vertical flap above each and a decorative two button belt across the back.  This tweed coat is fully lined in black satin viscose.

Fabric label:  Pure Virgin Wool

Sizing: There is no size label on this tweed coat but it should fit a medium size.  Please note the following measurements for fit:

Shoulders:  17 1/2” across,seam to seam

Sleeve:  24” long

Sleeve inseam:  17 1/2”

Bust:  42”, around, taken under the arms

Waist:  39” around

Hips:  42”

Length:  49”, measured flat

Condition:  This tweed coat is in very clean condition with no wear, tear, staining or odour.  The Altman label is detached on one side, very minor.

This is a wonderful quality 70s era tweed coat - very stylish as one would expect from B Altman!
