This is a fine quality fur felt mod bucket hat made by venerable French milliner Fléchet.  Fléchet was founded in 1859 by Gabriel Fléchet in a town called Chazelles-sur-Lyon, near Saint-Etienne.  Fléchet quality of this 60s era, and prior, is put on a par with Italian milliner Borsalino.  This bucket hat is made in black with a matching band around the crown that is decorated with a gold toned buckle. The brim can be worn turned up for a derby look (see photo) or down for a bucket hat style.  It has a rounded crown.  The interior top of the crown has a foil label affixed to it that reads “Modèle Original Fléchet Paris”.  The black grosgrain sweatband is stamped in gold with “100% Fur Felt”.  The size label reads 56, which is the French equivalent of a US size 7 - the opening measures 21 1/4” around the sweatband and although that is a bit small for a size 7, this should sit higher on the head.  It is in very good condition with no pronounced wear, tear or soiling.
