Vintage 60s Black Velvet Cape Hooded Rain Master Canada Sz M

This is a excellent quality vintage 60s black velvet cape with built on hood.  The fabric is of a heavier weight and is fully lined in black satin.  The cape does up with three roped frog closures within a six button configuration.  There is a slit at either side that allows one’s arms to emerge.  This black velvet cape is full length and cut with a wide flare to the hemline which allows for movement and a draped fall. 

Age: 1960s 

Label: Rain Master by Lou Ritchie. Made in Canada.  Lou Ritchie also produced a similar line of capes and coats under his own name.  Rain Master hired Marielle Fleury in 1969 to design their line under her name, so this probably pre-dates 1969. 

Sizing: There is no size label on this black velvet cape, and although this should fit a range of medium sizes, please note the following measurements for fit:

Shoulders: 20” across approximated

Length: 56” measured flat down the front

Bust: 48” around, must accommodate arms as well as torso

Hemline: 104” around

Condition:  This black velvet cape is in very clean condition with no wear (except for a small fray to the hood lining, really nothing), tear or stains - this appears not to have seen much use at all and was well cared for and stored over the years.

This is a fabulous black velvet cape - looks Celtic, but would appeal to lovers of the romantic look or even the Goth look!
