Vintage 1980s Coat Geometric Pattern Velvet Ladies Size L

This is a fabulous vintage 1980s coat featuring wild geometric shapes in striking colours outlined with raised gold metallic paint on velvet, looks to be Klimt inspired - very 1980s!.  This vintage 1980s coat has a small rounded collar, heavily padded shoulders, raglan sleeves and closes at the neck with one large matching button.  Otherwise, it has no other closures, so simply folds over at the front.  The body is cut full with a wide flare to the hemline so that the coat falls in drapes in a full length.  It has a pocket at either side.  The coat is fully lined in purple satin fabric.  This vintage 1980s coat would provide some warmth in a colder climate although it isn’t meant for harsh winter use - it really is more of an evening coat for moderately cold or cool  temperatures.

Label:  No label present.  Possibly custom made - I haven’t been able to find a similar coat anywhere

Sizing: There is no size label on this coat, and although it should fit a large size, please rely on the following measurements for fit (please take the style of the coat into consideration):

Shoulders and sleeves:  33” from the mid-neck to the sleeve cuff - I would estimate the shoulders to be about 18” across with a 24” long sleeve

Sleeve inseam: 18”

Bust: 50” around, taken under the arms

Waist:  64” around, with a normal overlap

Hemline:  130” around

Overall length: 53", measured flat at the back from the neck seam

Condition: This vintage 1980s coat is in excellent condition with no pronounced wear, tear, staining or odour.
