This is a fabulous 1970s maxi dress that features a floral printed voile nylon over a pale yellow acetate base fabric. The top of this 1970s maxi dress dress and the mid sleeves are smocked. The sleeves are puffed at the top and bottom, a kind of cross between a Juliet and a peasant or bishop sleeve. The neckline is made in a scalloped bateau or boat form. The waist is defined and the skirt of the dress is tucked under the waistline so that it falls in drapes. There are no closures but the smocking is elasticized, so the dress simply goes over the head.
Label: Canadian ILGWU union label used between 1968 and 1984
