Vintage 1970s Gauzy Indian Cotton Dress Floral Print NOS

This is an Indian cotton dress, never used, and one of a lot of old store stock stored in a warehouse for the last 45+ years. This particular Indian cotton dress is printed in an ornate floral and foliate pattern with peacock representations on the sleeve cuffs as well as around the bottom of the dress. The print is in tones of blue, purple and black on a white background. The fabric was made in India of 100% cotton, woven in a lightweight gauzy construction, great for summer wear.  In fact, this Indian cotton dress is especially light, airy and very sheer, even more so than other Indian gauze cotton dresses that I’ve handled.  The dress has no closures except for two sets of ties at the open neckline - otherwise, it simply fits over the head. 

Label: CA-05678  The dresses have a label that reads 100% Cotton Made in India, but this Indian cotton dress has been mislabeled as 100% rayon - it is however, absolutely cotton, identical to the other dresses. CA-05678 is the Canadian textile identification number for the Neelam Importex of Toronto - as far as I can tell, this company has been inactive for many years.

Size: Size M for medium is indicated on this Indian cotton dress, but please rely on the following measurements for fit, taking the style of the dress into account:

Sleeves: 31” from the mid neck, over the shoulder to the sleeve cuff

Sleeve inseam: 18”

Bust: 46” around

Waist: 54" around, meant to fall loosely

Hips: Full

Length: 48 1/2“, measured lying flat

Condition: It is in excellent condition as it was never used - ready for use.
