From the 1940s a red gabardine shoulder padded dress. I wonder if this was meant to be worn as a uniform. The label reads Original Natural Ease - Reg U.S. Pat. Off - Boston Maid. It does up the front with a long metal zipper which goes all the way to almost the very bottom of the dress. It has a loop and button at the neckline and it has soft shoulder pads and pockets. I like the details in this dress - the tab features at the top of the dress with the black and red decorative buttons, even the cut of the cuff of the sleeve. Little details make such a difference. The color is a deep red, I would call it a brick red shade.
