1940s Vintage Silver Fox Fur Stole Cape Size M

This is a vintage silver fox fur stole / cape, dating probably to the 1940s or early 50s.  This vintage silver fox fur stole has a squared shape with a waist length at the sides around the back, and a longer length at the front.  There are no sleeves or arm openings - one simply would wear this over the shoulders.  There are no closures and the front panels hang straight down - I’ve posed it with the right panel overlapping the left panel, but to get it to stay like this, you would have to use a clip, or sew on a hook and eye.  The piece is lined in brownish grey satin fabric.  There is no label.  The fur is in a brown colour with frosty silver white highlights, a little browner in the front than around the back - the pelts are arranged vertically in the front and horizontally around the back.  The fur is very full and looks great.

Sizing: Although this vintage silver fox fur stole should accommodate a range of sizes medium to large, please note the following measurements, taken from the exterior:

Shoulders:  about 19” across. taken along the lining

Bust:  about 22” across, 44” around

Length:  about 26”, measured flat at the front and 18” long at the back

Condition:  This vintage silver fox fur stole is in very good condition - the fur appears to be fresh, with no noticeable shedding - with a little care this should last for many more years..
