This is a vintage late 70s or early 80s leopard patterned faux fur jacket made in Canada of acrylic pile fabric.  This faux fur jacket is made in a short style with padded shoulders and long sleeves.  The collar is formed simply by turning the open edge.  The faux fur jacket has an extension tab at the bottom that affixes to a belt buckle in order to secure the jacket - there are no other closures.   The jacket is lined in maroon coloured satin.

Label: Anthony Saks CA 06575.  Anthony Saks was the brand of Shirmax, a Montreal based retailer.  The brand was retired in 1984.

Union label:  ILGWU - International Ladies Garment Workers Union Canadian label that was in use from 1968 until 1984.

The union label has a CA identification number of CA00323, which is the number assigned to S. Stall and Son of Winnipeg, Manitoba.  S. Stall and Son was established during the 1920s and became a supplier to many of Canada’s largest retailers.

Material: Shell: 50% Acrylic / 50% Modacrylic Backing: 100% Polyester. Lining: 52% Acetate / 48% Cotton

Sizing: Size 8 is indicated, and although this faux fur jacket should fit a medium size, please rely on the following measurements for fit, taking the thickness of fabric into account:

Shoulders:  16 1/2” across from seam to seam - note that your shoulder cap would extend into the top of the sleeve

Sleeves:  25” long from the shoulder seam

Sleeve Inseam:  15 1/2”

Bust: 40” around, taken under the arms

Bottom: 40” around

Overall length: 22”, measured flat

Condition:  This faux fur jacket is in very good condition with no wear, tear, staining or odour.  This faux fur jacket looks like it saw little use and was well stored over the years.

This is a wonderful faux fur jacket - excellent disco era / early 80s style.......sure to be noticed!
