Vintage 1970s Paco Rabanne Space Age Chainmail Dress with Matching Hat

From the disco era here is a Paco Rabanne dress made out of rhodoid gold discs linked together by small gold jump rings.   The reverse side of this dress is green.   It has a V neckline or scoop neckline, I think you can choose which side you prefer to wear in front.  Lightweight gold chain edging runs around the neckline and armholes. There are no zips or snaps, simply slips over the head.

It also includes the cloche styled hat.  The way the hat is made it is pretty much a one size fits most.

There is no label as these were originally sold as kits in a plastic case with instructions inside.  The Paco Rabanne name was on the plastic case.

Please rely on the following measurements for fit.  It should flow over your body.

Bust:     40 stretched out

Waist:    38 stretched out

Hips:      40 stretch out

Length:  36 to the pointed edge on hem - this does not include the chain dangles.

Condition is very good, there are about 15 or so jump rings missing and one of the  large sequins at the bottom.    It you did not care to use the hat, you could use the jump rings and sequin to add to the dress.   These jump rings can also be found at craft shops today.

Paco Rabanne certainly was an inspiration and was a very forward looking designer.  His designs are still fascinating today!
