From the 1970s here's a pair of Church's mens shoes that came from the estate of the President of a long defunct Canadian retail chain. These feature the traditional quality upon which Church's reputation was made. There is a consensus opinion that Church's production is now inferior in comparison to the type of quality that was produced over 20 years ago. The shoes are made in a loafer style with square brass studs on either side of the front openings. The shoes have leather soles and brass nails affixing the heel.Much of the clothing dated to the 1960s, very Mad Men era when the President of a large business was expected to dress sharply.

The wood tyrol shoe trees can be included, just let us know if you would like them.

Insole stamping: Church's Famous English Shoes Made in England Expressly for Henry Marks Ltd Montreal. Henry Marks is a Montreal menswear retail store founded in 1966.

Sole stamping: Church's Extra Quality / Church's Famous English / 9 B/C

Color: Brown.

Sizing: Size 9 B/C is indicated, but please rely on the following measurements for fit:

Insoles: 11" in length from the tip of the toe to the back of the heel

Soles: 11 3/8" in length from the tip of the toe to the back of the heel

Sole width: 3 3/4" at their widest

Condition: These look to have seen very little use and were well stored and cared for over the years. The soles do demonstrate evidence of use (see photo) and the rubber at the back of the heel is slightly worn down. The uppers, however, are in great condition and even the gold stamping on the insoles in unworn and legible. Really, this pair is in surprisingly wonderful condition for a used pair of shoes that are over 40 years old.

This is a great pair of vintage Church's shoes. Not your typical oxford or wingtip, this pair packs a lot of vintage pizzazz coupled with exceptional quality.
