Vintage 1970s Boucle Tweed Wool Coat w Fox Fur Trim Yves Deflandre Paris Size S
Brand Poppy's Vintage Clothing
This is a very attractive 70s era vintage wool bouclé tweed coat made by Yves Deflandre Paris. The coat has a fox fur collar and cuffs and is made in classic early 1970s era French style. It has a small patch pocket at either side of the upper bodice and a larger patch pocket at either lower side. It has a six button closure and cinches at the waist with a matching sash belt. The fabric is of very good quality - a loosely woven tweed in a bouclé (curled nappe) finish, the type of fabric used for high end suits made by Paris fashion houses at that time. It is in a brownish beige colour, a little towards the peach tone. It is fully lined in a quilted rayon fabric that is padded for extra warmth.
Label: Yves Deflandre Paris
Sizing: There is no size label, and although this should fit a size small, please note the following measurements for fit, keeping the thickness of the fabric and the style of the coat in mind (note narrow shoulders):
Shoulders: 14” across from shoulder seam to shoulder seam
Sleeves: 22” long from the shoulder seam, including the fur cuff
Sleeve Inseam: 16 1/2” including the fur cuff
Bust: 35” around, taken under the arms, should be loose
Waist: 32” around, uncinched
Hips: 37” around
Overall length: 43"
Condition: It is in very good condition with no wear, tear or stains - the lining is slightly loose where attached to the lower right side in one short area, very minor and easily re-secured if desired, although really not an issue. Otherwise, this appears not to have seen much use at all and was well cared for and stored over the years.
This is an exceptional coat - very nice quality, soft fox fur protecting the neck and wrists, attractive 70s French style!
