Vintage 70s Andre Courreges Paris Blue Wool Coat Size S

This is a wonderful vintage designer Andre Courreges coat featuring a quality blue wool fabric with a long nap finish. The coat has a wide collar that can be worn up to protect the face, close to the neck or open. It is accented with blue cloth bands at the shoulders, the top of the sleeves, down the front opening, down the back, around the sleeve ends, around the bottom and around the collar. The waist has an open cavity through which there is a sash belt with leather ends. There is a pocket built into either side. The sleeves are made in an above the wrist length so that you can expose any gloves that you might be wearing. The coat closes down the front with three leather buckles. There is a leather band stamped “Courreges” in script that is affixed to the right lower side with two brass rivets.

Label:  Courreges Paris Made in France.  Andre Courreges is a legendary Parisian fashion designer, known for his avant garde “space age” design during the 1960s, and his innovative, “fresh” looking designs through the 70s.

Material: 92% Wool / 8% Nylon with Polyester/cotton blended banding and leather buckles and pieces

Sizing: Size 000 is indicated, which is the Courreges size code - the lady from whom this was acquired normally wore a size 4/6, but the measurements appear to be a little larger, so please note the following measurements for fit, allowing for the style of the garment (your body measurements should be smaller, or measure a similar garment that you own) and the thickness of the wool:

Shoulders:  17” across from shoulder seam to shoulder seam

Sleeves:  20” long from the shoulder seam

Sleeve inseam:  13 1/2”

Bust:  42” around

Waist:  40” around

Hips:  42”

Length:  40” long, measured flat

Condition:  It is in very good pre-owned condition with no pronounced wear, tear, stains or odors.  The garment was just dry cleaned and the only wear is slight usage wear to the leather buckles, normal wear for a coat that has been used.

This is a fabulous Courreges coat - avant-garde 70s styling, very sophisticated at a reasonable price.....
