Vintage 60s Faux Fur Swakara Coat Bagdad by Fairmoor Lafrance Fabric Ladies Size M

$120.00

Brand Poppy's Vintage Clothing

This is a vintage faux fur coat styled by Fairmoor under their “Bagdad” brand name.  The coat features a “swakara” or lamb texture - Fairmoor specialized in making these acrylic pile faux fur coats and produced very nice quality.  The fabric was made by LaFrance, a division of Riegel Textile Corp.  The faux fur is in a light tan or pinkish beige color with highlights.  The coat has a wide pointy collar with notched lapel.   There is a flap applied onto either side that makes it appear that there are patch pockets, but the pockets are actually built vertically into the sides.  The coat probably had a matching sash belt, but it is no longer present.  It is fully lined in beige satin.  It does up with four buttons down the front, but the top button is missing (see photo) - you don’t need the top button if you wear the coat with the neckline open, but if you do up the neck, it’s noticeable that the button is missing.  You can either find a replacement button or change the buttons altogether.
