This is a vintage 1950s plaid wool shirt in excellent condition. This vintage 1950s plaid wool shirt has a loop and button closure at the neck, a squared collar, a four button front, a flapped chest pocket at either side and two button adjustable barrel cuffs.
Label: Carlyle Imported Worsted 100% Virgin Wool Mitten Mothproofed Authentic Scotch Plaids Sanforlan Shrunk.
Condition: As mentioned, excellent, surprising for a shirt of its type and age. The only defect is a missing button at the left cuff - the second button is still present.
It is sized as L for large, but please note the following measurements for fit, taking the style of this vintage 1950s plaid wool shirt into consideration:
Neck: 16 1/2”
Shoulders: 19” across from shoulder/sleeve seam to shoulder/sleeve seam
Sleeves: 24” from the shoulder/sleeve seam / 33 1/2” from the mid-neck
Sleeve Inseam: 22”
Chest: 48” around, taken under the arms
Waist: 48” around
Overall length: 29”, measured flat at the back from the neck seam
This is a wonderful vintage 1950s plaid wool shirt - getting very difficult to find authentic 50s era shirts like this, so a wonderful acquisition!
