This is a beautifully tailored vintage mens suit, dated March 22nd, 1954 on the tailor’s label.  The suit is made in a blue gabardine type wool.  The jacket is made in a double breasted style with padded shoulders and peaked lapels.  The jacket has a three button closure and three buttons at the end of each sleeve.  There is a jetted pocket at either side and a pocket at the left breast.  The jacket is half lined in blue satin fabric.  The pants are pleated and have a zippered fly and cuffed legs. The suit is of excellent quality.

Tailor’s label: L. Lombardi Preferred Clothes Limited Montreal. Mr. Krebal France Date March 22th (sic) 1954.

Material: Wool.  It is a beautiful fabric, excellent quality with nice fall.  This is definitely a fall/winter suit.  They don’t make fabric of this quality any longer and haven’t for some time.    

Sizing: No size is indicated, as it was custom tailored, but this should fit a medium to large size, probably a size 42 tall.  Please rely on the following measurements for fit, taken from the exterior (please take the thickness of the wool into consideration):

Jacket:

Shoulders: 20” across, from shoulder/sleeve seam to shoulder/sleeve seam

Sleeves: 27” from shoulder/sleeve seam

Sleeve Inseam: 19” long

Chest: 46” around, taken under the arms (chest requires 4” to fit 42}

Waist: 41” around

Overall length: 31", measured flat

Pants:

Waist: 36”, uncinched by a belt and with the tabs fully let out

Leg Inseam: 31” long

Overall length: 44 1/2“

Condition: This suit is in excellent condition with no wear, tear, stains or odors.  This suit looks like it saw little, if any, use and was very well kept over the years, amazing for a suit that is almost 63 years old.  

This is a wonderful early 50s era suit - beautiful quality with great fit and style.....
