This is a wonderful whoopee cap aka a Jughead hat dating to the 1940s.  This Jughead hat belonged to a young Greek Canadian boy born in 1932 who became a very successful financial investor who was politically connected - his first name is on the front of the hat.  I won’t go into his identity here, but will reveal it to the winning buyer.  This Jughead hat is full of WWII era pinbacks with one more recent addition - note the Bay “shit” pinback.  I count 22 pinbacks, an RCAF wings, a lucite plastic torch, a bakelite hat, an RCN anchor and initials, an enamel Canada US friendship flag, an enamel elephant, a Boy Scouts pin, a Canada Customs button, a Police button, a military pip, a 1940 and 1943 Canadian nickel, and some type of shovel pin.  The pinbacks include Greek or Greek Canadian themes, CPR railway system Victory pins, bird protection, Boy Scouts, Red Cross, a CBC Radio Canada Victory pinback and other patriotic themes.  The hat has been well preserved and the pins are all in very good condition, however, the RCAF wings are damaged in that one of the wings has been bent and is in danger of detaching - I would maybe reinforce them with some metal glue.  An original Jughead hat with interesting pinbacks like this is becoming difficult to find.  The original owner of this Jughead hat couldn’t have known that he would eventually be hosting presidents, prime ministers and hobnobbing with Queen Elizabeth II!
