Vintage 1920s Mens Suit 3 Piece Black Wool Custom Tailored M

This is a vintage 1920s mens suit consisting of a jacket, vest and pair of pants, all made of a black wool worsted.  The jacket to this vintage 1920s mens suit has slightly padded shoulders, medium wide notched lapels, a two button front, three button cuffs and has no vent at the bottom back.  There is a pocket at the chest and a flapped pocket at either side.  It is fully lined in a black satin fabric.  The vest has a cutaway front, a seven button closure and a jetted pocket at either side. It has a black back with adjustable belt and is fully lined in a striped fabric.  The pants to this vintage 1920s mens suit have a pleated front and is form fitting with a slim straight leg.  It has a button-up fly.

Label:  None, but this vintage 1920s mens suit is custom tailored.  The pants pockets have a selvedge that reads “All Wool Best Quality” (see close-up photo).  The interior is hand finished (note the white stitching throughout the pants.

Sizing: No size is indicated, but I think that vintage 1920s mens suit is about a mens size medium short, about a US size 38/40 - please rely on the following measurements:

Jacket:

Shoulders: 18 1/2” across from shoulder/sleeve seam to shoulder/sleeve seam

Sleeves: 23” from the shoulder/sleeve seam - there is an extra 2” inside the cuff

Sleeve inseam: 16 1/2”

Chest:  45” around

Waist:  38” around, buttoned

Overall length:  28 1/2”, measured flat at the back

Vest:

Chest:  39” around

Waist:  34” with a relaxed belt adjustment

Pants:

Waist:  31 1/2”

Leg inseam:  29” with 2” of extra fabric in the cuff

Length:  40”

Condition: This vintage 1920s mens suit is in very good condition with no stains, odours, pronounced wear or tears.  The lining at the right armpit needs some stitching and there is a black mark on the interior lining of the vest, not visible when worn (see last close-up photos).

It’s very difficult to find a vintage 1920s mens suit - excellent quality, almost contemporary looking….
