This is a pair of 1920s vintage ladies stockings made in Canada by Somerset. These came out of an old general store and are old store stock, never used. The foil label that held them together is still present, but torn in half so the stockings have been separated. The foot is printed in white wth “Quality Hosiery” while the foil label reads “Fashion Fit Somerset Product” - the other half of the foil label is a size chart, which probably doesn’t pertain to today’s sizes. The stockings are made in black. They would fit an average sized foot. They measure 32” from the top to the bottom of the heel and the foot measures 9 1/2” in length from the back of the heel to the toe. The top 6 1/2 inches are ribbed so as to keep the stockings in place. They are unused, but have a slight bit of discolouration to one side of the toe on one stocking, probably as a result of light exposure during storage (see close-up photo). Despite this, these stockings are a great find - unused flapper hosiery!
