Hats by his partner Monsieur Gilles were modeled along pith helmet lines...this would have been the teeny beanie version.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDe Barentzen was born and raised in France to a Danish father and French mother. He apprenticed \u0026amp; worked with Jacques Fath in the 50s up until Fath's death in November of 1954.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThere is a quote from the 1959 pages of Vogue Magazine that states: \"23-year-old Patrick de Barentzen was described as \"the daring young man of the Italian couture whose collection is full of dash, fun and ideas\". He quickly rose as a darling of Italian designers along with the likes of Galitzine, Valentino, Simonetta, Fabiani, Capucci, Fontana, and Forquet. Couture quality tailoring. The inside is as pretty as the outside.\"\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAnother article from November 64 from Toledo, Ohio, by Mary Jane Spencer states that he left France to move to Italy after Fath's death due to his great sadness. These stores would then be allowed to reproduce these styles. These were generally of a high quality. These firms would then be allowed to sell the articles with the label indicating they were an adaptation or reproduction of the Parisian couturiers style. this is a massive piece that weighs 7.5 oz.,  almost half a pound!\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eLarge examples of Vidal’s work are difficult to come by, especially in this condition - I unpinned and unfolded it in order to photograph it on the mannequin. I disposed of the bag as it did not have any writing on it, just a simple plastic.
