it is quite amazing how much work went into this.  It is quite a good sized piece (note scale as posed on dress), measuring 12 1\/2” in height.  Beautiful colours on this piece - purple, green, blue and gold with superior brilliance as these, I believe, are the old gelatin type.  Wonderful piece to incorporate into a creation of your own!\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Poppy's Vintage Clothing","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":31249724369,"sku":"31249724369_144A","price":45.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0273\/1559\/products\/40s-Parrot-Long-Applique-1.jpg?v=1594444609"},{"product_id":"vintage-1940s-barkcloth-fabric-floral-tower-vat-print-wingate-design-42-x-94","title":"Vintage 1940s Barkcloth Fabric Floral Tower Vat Print Wingate Design 42 x 94","description":"\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThis is barkcloth drapery fabric printed with a floral pattern - This appears to be a rather rare combination as I couldnt find other examples anywhere on the internet. This was made during the dark days of WWII, when Wedgwood \u0026amp; Co. was one of only a few potteries allowed to produce pottery under the Wartime Concentration Scheme, freeing up workers to join the war effort. Under the Wartime Concentration Scheme potteries were only allowed to produce undecorated wares for domestic use but were allowed to produce a small amount of decorated pottery for export in order to earn foreign dollars. The Scheme was initiated in the fall of 1941 but fully in effect by the summer of 1942. Production of this Tudor Rose on Blush Rose pattern probably was cut short due to the restrictions, and because of them, exported to Canada in 1942. The transfer printed rose is signed within the print with G Baylis. The platter is stamped on its underside with the Wedgwood \u0026amp; Co unicorn mark and is impressed with the date code of 3 42 for March, 1942. The piece is made in an oval form and measures 10 3\/4 by 8 3\/4 - it is fairly heavy, weighing 1 lb and 6 oz. It is in very good condition with no cracks, chips or scratches, but it does have some glaze crazing, but no discolouration - this has been very well kept over the last 82 years. Cordey was founded in 1942 by artist Boleslaw Cybis with two partners. Cordey marketed their products as giftware of high quality through retailers such as B Altman, Wanamakers and Macys. This bust is hand marked on the underside with 50021, but also impressed into the ceramic with 5009. It is both gold stamped and impressed with Cordey. This lady has coil hair style with four purple flowers on the side of her head, and two similar flowers with leaves at her bust. She measures 5 3\/4 height and 3 1\/4 by 2 7\/8 across the base. She has two condition problems - the applied ceramic to the top of her dress is chipped off at the front and there is a chip to the top leaf on her head. They were very dirty when I acquired them, but I was able to clean them up substantially, although with a bit more work, they will be cleaner - I didnt want to be too aggressive and take off the finish (never submerge chalk ware in water). They do have a couple of issues - corner chips that Ive shown in the last close-up photos and a few paint flakes. My understanding is that it is fairly easy to repair chalk ware with glue and either baking soda or chalk dust, but I would think that the paint match would be a bit more challenging.
