This is a striking art deco dressing gown / womens robe that dates to the 1930s.  This art deco dressing gown has rounded lapels, a V shaped neckline, long sleeves and turned cuffs.  There is a pocket at the right side.  The robe closes with interior ties and a matching sash belt.  It is unlined - the print is as vibrant on the interior as the exterior.

Label: Frearsonia British Made.

Color: Pattern is in strong and bright tones of green, yellow, orangey red and white against a black background.

Material: Either acetate or rayon in a satiny finish, fairly lightweight

Sizing: No size is indicated, but this art deco dressing gown should fit a medium size - please rely on the following measurements for fit:

Shoulders: 16” across, seam-to-seam

Sleeves: 21” long, from shoulder seam with cuffs turned, 24” with cuffs dropped

Bust: 39” around, taken under the arms with a normal overlap

Waist:  39” around, meant to be cinched with the sash belt

Overall length: 50”, measured flat at the back from the neck seam

Condition: This art deco dressing gown is in very good condition with no pronounced wear but it does have a bluish lineal stain at the back towards the left side (see two last close-up photos).  There is a similar stain on the belt, but this isn’t visible when the belt is on.  Also, the cuffs are falling - this would require a couple of stitches, and I’ll leave it up to the new owner to decide how much of a turn that they would like.  Otherwise, this art deco dressing gown looks like it saw little use and has been well cared for and stored over the last 85 to 90 years

This is a wonderful art deco dressing gown - striking art deco print!
