Mid Century Modern Whitefriars Flat Lobed Vase Grey Cased Glass Geoffrey Baxter 8.5

This is an interesting grey cased glass vase made by Whitefriars (James Powell & Sons Ltd) in a tall flat lobed form. It looks like a cross between the Willow vase, #9651, because of its flat rather than round form, and the lobed model, #9727. Both of those models were designed by Geoffrey Baxter, so Im sure that this was also designed by him. I have been unable to find this particular vase in the Whitefriars catalogs, so Im wondering if it was a prototype, or just simply uncommon, as I cant find a similar example anywhere. It measures 8 1/2 in height and 3 3/4 by 2 5/8 across its top. It weighs 4 lbs and 5 oz - heavy and thick yet lovely clarity in the clear areas. Beautiful quality British glass - this should be a wonderful addition to a Whitefriars collection!
